Otto Modersohn (1865-1943), Regenstimmung, early work from 1884, oil on canvas, signed, dated and inscribed O. Modersohn Ddf 12.84 lower right, inscribed on label verso, 28 x 42 cm, framed 41 x 55.5 cm.- According to the kind information provided by Mr. Noeres of the Otto Modersohn Museum in Fischerhude, as recorded in the painter’s diary, this is the second picture that Modersohn painted during his first semester at the Düsseldorf Art Academy on Sunday, 7.12. at the age of 19 in the area around Soest.
