Karl May (1901-1976), German-Canadian expressionist who studied in Prague and Vienna. His works were shown in the Feme exhibition ”Degenerate Art” and later destroyed. After a few years in Iran, where he taught at the academy in Tehran, he emigrated to Canada. ”zwei Papiageien”, color chalk on paper (not fixed), signed and dated ”may 48” lower left, creases at margins, traces of storage, sheet size 60 x 82 cm
