Hilde Goldschmidt (1897-1980), born in Leipzig, Expressionist painter and graphic artist, studied there under Hugo Steiner-Prague. In 1919 she met F.K. Gotsch at the Dresden academy, with whom she studied under Kokoschka. Forced to emigrate as a Jew, she sought out Kokoschka in England in 1941.
