Alfred Beier-Red (1902-2001), important German caricaturist, worked mainly for the communist press, such as ”Die Rote Post”, ”Die Rote Fahne” etc., to protect himself from reprisals he usually signed with the pseudonym ”Red”. He was a co-founder of the ”Association of Revolutionary Visual Artists” and from 1946 he worked mainly for ”Neues Deutschland”. His original drawings and graphics are represented in the German Historical Museum, among others, but are rarely found on the market. Three anti-war motifs from 1959-62: ”Complete disarmament of the USSR, that would be the end”, ”Even on the strongest gnaws the ravages of time”, and ”Right-wing social democracy”, aquatint etchings, 2x signed, sheet dimensions up to 60 x 41.5 cm
