A highlight of horology was the horizontal table clock from the 18th century. The gilded and profiled square bronze case with side glass windows features a silver Roman numeral ring bearing the signet of clockmaker Johann Heinrich Wagner from Pirna. Wagner was commissioned in 1729 by Augustus the Strong, King of Poland and Elector of Saxony, to produce various clocks that could be won in a lottery at the court in Dresden. This extraordinary piece was sold for €11,000.
An impressive play of light is shown in Abraham Danielszoon Hondius’s "Mary Magdalene." The Dutch painter, who had been active in London since 1671 and was particularly known for his animal and hunting scenes, depicts an early Baroque penitent Mary Magdalene. Her physiognomic features still show connections to Mannerism, but the painting gains a special vitality through the interplay of light and shadow. The painting, with a starting price of €2,500, was sold for €3,600.
The two figures of the Upper Bavarian peasant couple from the Allach porcelain manufactory were made between 1936 and 1945 based on a design by Richard Förster. Painted polychromatically in naturalistic colors, they show impressive character. Each figure was called with a starting price of €4,000 and sold for €5,500 and €6,000, respectively.
From the centerpiece ‘Indian Procession, ‘ designed by Carl Reschke for KPM Berlin in 1912/1913, comes the Art Nouveau figure "Gnu with Rider." This piece features an Indian boy sitting on a lavishly bridled and pottery-laden gnu. The piece, made around 1922, was sold for €3,200.
