August Haarstick. 1882 – Bremen – 1946. vase. Designed by Fritz Uphoff, c. 1924-1930. Brass, plated on the inside and underside, hand-chased, round, tapering foot, gradually widening dome, monogrammed AH underneath, rubbed, h. 12 cm, d. top 11.5 cm, d. base 7.5 cm.- The silver and goldsmith August Haarstick took over the metalware factory Phil. Haarstick in Bremen in 1911 and maintained close contacts with the Worpswede artists’ circle – From the estate of Fritz Uphoff.
