Fritz Uphoff. 1890 Witten – 1966 Worpswede. 3 rare sketches of prophets’ heads for portfolios. Circa 1922. Pen and ink on thin paper. Two designs for ”Hiob” for ”Acht Biblische Köpfe”, of which a first version, which was then discarded, each signed and dated Fritz Uphoff 22 lower right and inscribed Zeichnung Hiob z.d. Portfolio 8 biblical heads, 43 x 32 to 44 x 333 cm, as well as a design for a prophet’s head for ”Das Buch von Gott”, trimmed at bottom with remnants of inscription, each, stained, each mounted on support. 50 x 35 cm, unframed.
