Alfred Beier-Red (1902-2001), important German caricaturist, worked mainly for the communist press, such as ”Die Rote Post”, ”Die Rote Fahne” etc., to protect himself from reprisals he usually signed with the pseudonym ”Red”. He was a co-founder of the ”Association of Revolutionary Visual Artists” and from 1946 he worked mainly for ”Neues Deutschland”. His original drawings and graphics are represented in the German Historical Museum, among others, but are rarely found on the market. ”The Innocent Angels of Nuremberg – we were always against it”, Rudolf Hess, Hermann Göring and other Nazi celebrities in the Nuremberg Palace of Justice. Ink drawing on paper, signed and titled. Inscribed ”Deutsche Volkszeitung 11. April 1946” on the verso, as well as Red’s address stamp, marginal tears, adhesive residue, 28.5 x 39.5 cm
