Guillaume Coustou (1677-1746), after, ‘Pair of Horses of Marly’, 19th century, cast metal with brown patina. The original of this pair of horses with tamers was made of Carrara marble for Louis XV as decoration for his castle in Marly-le-Roi. In 1794, the horses were moved to the Place de la Concorde in Paris; today they can be found in the Louvre in the covered courtyard of the Richelieu wing, known as the Cour Marly. On wooden plinths, h. 43 cm
