A pair of potpourri vases, Meissen, Knauff Schwerter, marks 1850-1924, 2nd choice, designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706 Dresden – 1775 Meissen) in 1760, model no. 2707, potpourri with cupids, double-arched body, richly decorated with flower garlands, a seated putto at the foot, a floating putto on the body, pierced lid with flower pyramid, polychrome painted and ornamentally gilded, fine view painting on the front,1 with the silhouette of Dresden with Frauenkirche and Zwinger, 1 with Pillnitz Castle, seen from the Elbe, framed by plastic garlands with flowers and fruits, side handles in the shape of reed leaves, verso flower bouquets, tws. bumped, h. 43 cm, ref.: Bergmann, Meissen Figuren 1-3000, p. 704, cat. no, 2569
