extremely rare Elgin wristwatch ”Lady & Tiger” in 14 carat white gold and enamel from 1925, this watch features a rectangular white gold case with enamel accents depicting a woman and a tiger in the Art Deco style designed by Lucien Lelong as part of the Parisienne series for the Elgin watch company. The vintage watch was also featured on the cover of the book ”American Watches: Five Decades of Style and Design” by Edward Faber, Ettagale Blauer and Stewart Unger, originally published in 1988. It has a silver-plated dial with gold-plated hands and applied gold-plated Arabic numerals. The sides of the case are finely engraved. The hand-wound movement with lever escapement by Elgin is running. Measures 17x26mm, height above domed plexiglass 9mm. Fitted with a black leather strap and gold-plated pin buckle.
