Dining plate, Meissen, c. 1762, from the dinner service for King Frederick II with red mosaic rim and Indian flower, iron-red camaieu decoration, ornamental gilding. Model ''Brühl'sches Allerlei''. Ø 26 cm, In 1761, in the middle of the war, Frederick's court councillor Leining ordered a new service, which he described in detail: ''With regard to the painting, it should be noted that no other color than red should be applied to the entire pieces, namely of the color that the King of Poland's majesty loves excellently, mixed with gold. The service with a ''Prussian-musical design'' became known as the Möllendorf service because Frederick II gave it to the deserving General Wichard von Möllendorf, who had once started as a page with him and later became one of his most important confidants in the Seven Years' War.
