Rare Russian porcelain plate from the service for the Tsar’s yacht ”Derzhava”, Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, St. Petersburg, 1871-1873, mark Tsar Alexander II, The court architect Ippolit Monigetti (1819-1878) designed a uniform decorative scheme for the interior of the imperial yacht Derzhava, which was completed in 1866 for Emperor Alexander II. Derzhava is the Russian word for imperial orb and in this case refers to the imperial orb that appears in one of the medallions. Made between 1871 and 1873, the service combines the orb of the Russian state seal with various nautical elements such as ropes and anchors. Polychrome painted and ornamentally gilded, Ø 22.5 cm
