Oval serving platter from the Vandernyver service, Sevres, 1793, painter’s monogram LT, The platter comes from a dinner service from Sèvres, which was sold to the Dutch banker Jean-Baptiste Vandernyver on November 29, 1792. The service originally consisted of 92 plates and was largely sold at Christie’s in London in 1897. Pieces from this service can be found in the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg.
