We cordially invite you to our spring auction on April 1st, which will be held exclusively as an online auction via our Berlin auction house Historia. This means that you cannot bid in person in the auction hall, but as a live bidder via the internet or as a telephone bidder for individual lots. As usual, absentee bids can be submitted up to a maximum of 24 hours before the auction.

Highlight of the auction, which comprises more than 800 lots, is the extensive and varied artistic estate of the long-forgotten Bremen painter, draftsman, sculptor, aviation pioneer and inventor Wilhelm Heinrich Focke (1878-1974): the more than 200 lots include paintings, drawings, watercolors, studies, carvings and construction drawings from all creative phases of the artist. A unique opportunity to bid on the horse motifs, which were particularly praised by artistic friends and companions such as Max Liebermann (1847-1935)!

Works by Worpswede artists are other focal points of the auction, including amongst others drawings by Paula Modersohn-Becker and Otto Modersohn, etchings and silver items by Heinrich Vogeler, paintings by Fritz Mackensen, Hans am Ende, Lisel Oppel, Udo Peters and numerous bronzes by Waldemar Otto and Bernd Altenstein. The more than 150 lots of modern and contemporary art include works by Norbert Schwontkowski and young Bremen artists such as Nicholas Bodde and Daniel Behrendt, as well as international names such as Antoni Tapies, Victor Vasarely and Friedensreich Hundertwasser with several works. Gerhards Marcks is also represented several times, not only with rare graphics but also with 6 sculptures. The selected works of art from the 16th to 19th centuries include woodcuts by Albrecht Dürer and a collection of miniatures.

The auctioned items can be picked up between April 4th and 20th at Bolland & Marotz, Fedelhören 19, 28203 Bremen - by prior arrangement.
