black marble bronze figural pendulum, 2nd half of 19th century, large mounted bronze of a scholar with a book sitting at a column, the base decorated with a bronze band all around, foot front right missing, gilded roman numerals mounted on the black marble background, gilded breguette hands, faceted glass with chips in the gilded glass rim, french movement with 1/2 hour disc chime. Round movement with 1/2 hour disc striking on bell, movement starts, h. 56cm, 56cm, d. 21cm
