The motif of the frontally shown female double nude is frequently encountered in the painter’s oeuvre and here it is designed in a particularly relaxed manner in a lively mood with cheerful colours.
Mixed media on cotton, 140cm x 105cm, 1995, shown in the catalogue raisonné under the number WVZ 3122. In the run-up to the auction, the work was freshly framed at the specialist dealer Boesner by one of the few expert and fully trained picture framers. In a multi-stage matching process, special emphasis was placed on the coherence between the work and the frame.
