Canton lacquer box, China 2nd half 19th century (Qing). Rectangular wooden body with chamfered corners on paw feet. Narrow sides with handles. Hinged lid and shallow drawer. Decorated all around and on the lid in gold and red on a black ground (lacquer). Lock without key, rubbed and chipped, 17 x 37 x 26 cm
