Festive icon, Russia, probably 2nd half 19th century, polychrome tempera painting and gold over chalk ground on wooden panel, recessed picture field, central depiction of the Easter event and the resurrection, surrounded by 12 accompanying scenes (probably the 12 main feast days of the Orthodox Church), verso covered with purple velvet, a glued but unrestored break left of center and another tear on the right, some missing parts, approx. 53.5 x 43.5 cm
