Heinrich Splieth (1877-1929), German sculptor and medalist, became a member of the Royal Academy of Arts and had a master studio there from 1903 to 1908 under Manzel and Arthur Kampf in turn In 1905 he made his first major trip to Rome. Large group of a naked rider on a horse at a furious gallop, gray-green patinated, heavy cast metal, on a terrain base, inscribed ”Splieth”, h. 42 x l. 62 cm
