Josefine Swoboda (1861-1924), Viennese portrait painter, pupil of Ferdinand Laufberger and Julius Berger, was a busy portraitist at European royal courts and for seven years the court painter to Queen Victoria of England. Double portrait of the sisters Gertrud and Anna Elisabeth Amsinck, who lived in the so-called aunt’s house in Hamburg-Lokstedt.
