Royal plate, Sevres, c. 1842, Louis-Philippe 1840 mark, fine painting in the mirror of two badgers lying in wait for a rabbit, gold borders, in the flag on a dove blue ground, Ø 24 cm, from the ”Animal Scenes” hard porcelain dessert service, painted by Jean-Charles Develly and gilded by Vaubertrand and Moyez, (consisting of 75 flat plates and other ornamental vessels), This dessert service with animal decoration was produced in 1841-1842 and presented by Louis-Philippe to Chancellor Pasquier the following year.
