A pair of figural candlesticks, Meissen, Knauff Schwerter, mark 1850-1924, 1st choice, designed by Ernst August Leuteritz 1855-1863, the shaft rising on a curved foot with 2 seated cupids, model no. E128 with allegories of spring and summer and model no. E129, with allegories of autumn and winter, richly decorated with blossom branches and fruit, as a single-flame candlestick, h. 34 cm, attachable top with three projecting candlestick arms, in this version 4-flame, h. 50 cm, painted in underglaze blue, ornamentally gilded, 1 attachment heavily chipped, the rest slightly chipped, ref.: Bergmann, Meissen Figuren A 100 – Z 300, p. 15
